The internationally renowned percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie is joined by the Chelys Consort of Viols, Emily Atkinson (soprano), David Gould (counter-tenor), Steven Harrold (tenor) and Robert Rice (baritone). They will perform Jill Jarman's atmospheric new work,  The Language of Bells, which mixes the sounds of old and new, life and death, celebration and mourning, and examines the call of bells pealing across the centuries. The local tower bell ringers will ring a quarter-peal before the concert.

The World Premiere of 'Gernika 85.', the most personal and largest project of the contemporary composer Aitor Etxebarria. Cafe OTO is pleased to welcome composer, percussionist, producer and instrument maker Bex Burch for a special two-day residency, presenting an intimate portrait of her core practice and special collaborations.

The first night Burch will be sharing the stage with solo percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie, a double GRAMMY winner, BAFTA nominee, recipient of the Polar Music Prize and the Companion of Honour; virtuoso double bassist John Edwards, whose staggering range of techniques and boundless musical imagination have redefined the possibility of the double bass and dramatically expanded its role; and Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist, composer and improviser Owen Gardner. His work draws from a wide variety of music, from the traditional to the highly abstract, coalescing into a very personal and hypnotic style.
