Evelyn Glennie and the World Doctors Orchestra – POSTPONED

18 October, 2020

£17.50

Dame Evelyn Glennie joins the World Doctors Orchestra in celebrating 70 years of the NHS.

In their first visit to the UK, the WDO join forces with a massed NHS choir in what will be a historic showcase event. Featuring Joseph Schwantner’s thrilling percussion concerto and Karl Jenkins’ eternally popular mass for peace ‘The Armed Man’, we present a celebration of global collaboration and living composers in aid of Pathway UK, a charity supporting health services for the homeless and marginalised in our society.

World Doctors Orchestra features performances by Cardiff Polyphonic Choir, Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir, Barts Chamber Choir and Lewisham Choral Society, with Prof. Stefan Willich as Musical Director and Dan Ludford-Thomas as Chorusmaster.

Ludwig van Beethoven – ‘Egmont’ Overture
Joseph Schwantner – Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra
Karl Jenkins – The Armed Man
