Description

Glasgow Bells (2015) is a recreation of the organ piece Glasgow Toccata (2011) and is dedicated to two of the remarkable performers on this disc, Dame Evelyn Glennie and Dr Kevin Bowyer. A prelude on the tubular bells leads to the development of a fast motif in quavers shared by organ and xylophone, with a middle section suggesting bagpipe and Scottish ‘snaps’.

The CD is principally an organ programme featuring Kevin Bowyer on the Organs of Girton College, Cambridge and Memorial Hall, University of Glasgow.
